:EDIT (2014): So I'm still getting requests for downloading of the psd file, and it seems the old place I hosted it is no longer doing free file hosting, so I've uploaded a version of the psd here on dA. Just follow the link and hit the download button.

so i spent way to much time yesterday working on this, considering its easier to make than what you would expect.
NOTE: that if you want this background you can find it here as a .jpeg: applepi92.deviantart.com/art/A… But if you want it as a photoshop file (which has layers and makes editing really easy) just note me and i'll send it to you.
I got the idea to do something like this while i was randomly browsing youtube.com, and came across iTalkApple's awesome Mac filled channel. www.youtube.com/user/italkappl… And watched her video extreme desktop customization www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ga4TB… which shows you how to make your desktop full of awesome.
I followed it pretty exactly till the end of the video, but i didn't like the wallpaper she used, so i made my own. I also couldn't get geektool to work right, and it didn't help that she was explaining on an older version of it.
The painting is Untitled from Cy Twombly's Peony Series, and i actually have a poster of it that i'm going to put up in my room.
beetle wallpaper is from coraline.com, you can find it if you go into the house, it should be the first room you come by, i think it is the foyer, and you click on the lamps mounted on the wall to download the wallpaper.
The floor and the picture frame are random pictures i edited in photoshop.
The coraline doll is a screen cap i took and then edited
The green clock is one of my dashboard widgets that i downloaded from apple, if you don't have a mac you could use yahoo widgets
And the shelves and chest are from the wallpapers iTalkApple had for download in her video, they are photoshop files.
